And thus it begins!

Hello there, internet!
For nearly two years I have been keeping a blog on Livejournal. That project was designed to help me be more open with other people. While it did result in a lot of whiny and bitchy posts, I succeeded in my goal. Now I think that it is time to move on to a new project which is... this!

This blog is going to be several things, but it is not going to be a personal journal. If I continue putting details of my life on the web, it is going to be on Livejournal, not here. Here is going to contain a record of my thoughts, not my actions. I'm going to use this place to try to organize my ideas and beliefs and maybe even start some discussions on them. I will also be practicing my writing on this place. I'm not that good at putting my ideas down on paper, so this will be where I hone that part of my writing. There's also a good chance that I'll put some fiction and poetry here, assuming I keep this blog up. Book reviews, music reviews, movie reviews... I might post any of that stuff!

Just as a fair warning, there will be stuff about the dinner table taboo two: religion and politics. Politically, I've gone from being a green leftist commie sympathizer to a green libertarian, so I know that the majority of both sides aren't idiots or horrible monsters. Religiously, I've gone from hardcore atheist to... something! We'll see how that goes. I'm going to try to be respectful, but there's a guarantee that you will disagree with something I post here. The internet is a calm and mature place, let's try and live up to its high standards.

Yay!!!
And I might stop in at Live Journal too. But maybe not. Presumably I will learn about any life-changing events without checking there.

Oh, and by the way the "taboo two" are a bit more like the staple of discussion blogs. At least in my experience

If it is really important and I'm posting it on the internet, you'll know about it.

Now I learn the importance of going through the post before posting. I meant the "dinner table taboo two", the two subjects you're supposedly not supposed to talk about around the dinner table so that you don't offend anyone. I've almost always ignored that rule.
